Confession is part of Jesus' model prayer in Matthew 6. Each part of His prayer is important and must be included as part of our prayers, if we want to experience the fullness of the personal relationship with our Lord.
The holidays are nearly here. For many people, perhaps the thought of gathering with family isn’t filled with anticipation but hesitance. Maybe there is a feeling of anxiety or sadness. I was in my own mind’s maze, encaged and lost. Instead, when I set my mind on Jesus – the Way, the Truth and the Life – I was met with “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding.”
We live in a time when it is easy to overlook the ordinary. In fact, we often find ways to grumble about it, when there is a simple beauty that we have failed to see and appreciate. It sounds cliché, but it is true that we have much to be deeply thankful for.
